Bo arrived at Blue Horse Rescue just before Christmas in 2015 with his companion, Belle. We called them the Christmas ponies. They came to us from a kill pen in Texas and we were very happy to be able to offer them a safe place to land.
Bo was adopted, along with his friend Belle, and enjoyed eight - nine years in a wonderful home where they were both much loved and cared for. Bo just came back to Blue Horse Rescue on January 5, 2025 so we are getting to know him all over again.
Bo is approximately 20 years old. He is a friendly and gentle pony and definitely an old soul. He is very curious and enjoys following us around as we do our barn chores. Bo is very happy to be off to side of the herd and by himself quietly spending time under what has quickly become his preferred tree. He doesn’t get too involved with what the herd is up to, especially the mares. Bo does check in frequently with the volunteers and is always hoping for something to nibble on. Since Bo is prone to laminitis, as you can see from the grazing muzzle, I think we are all a huge disappointment to him as far as treats go! As much as he loves to nibble Bo is very cooperative about having the grazing muzzle put on every day before being turned out, and even happier when it’s time to take it off!
Bo is not available for adoption at this time.
